Transferring Calls

Skype for Business works directly with your phone, giving you a number of methods for holding, parking and transferring calls. You may using the phone itself, or use the Skype for Business client on your computer.

This article covers the following tasks:

 

Direct Call Transfer

Using the phone

1. From the In Call screen, press Menu, and then select "Transfer Directly To."
 
2. Enter a phone number or select a contact, and then press Call.

Using the client

  1. Move your mouse over the Call button. In the popup that appears, click "TRANSFER CALL"
  2. Choose either an individual listed, or choose "Another Person or Number." If you click "Another Person or Number," you will be able to choose from anyone in your contacts or search the entire phonebook based on name or number.

Parking a call

1. From the In Call screen, press Menu, and then select "Transfer to Parking Lot." The call is placed on hold.
 
A notification appears, displaying a number to call in order to retrieve the call.
 
2. Contact the person that you want to answer the call, and give them the number from the notification. They just need to dial the number to retrieve the parked call.

Using the client

1. Move your mouse over the Call button. In the popup that appears, click "TRANSFER CALL"
2. Choose "Parking Lot"

Consulting and transferring

Using the phone

1. From the In Call screen, press Menu, and then select Consult then Transfer To.
 
2. Enter a number or select a contact, then press Consult.
3. Once the contact accepts, press Transfer.

Using the client

1. Go to the main Lync window. Begin another call to the other person you would like to consult with (your current call will automatically be put on hold). 

2. Once you have finished speaking with the individual you consulted with, hang up that call, then click "Resume Call" with the person on hold. You may now transfer the initial call to the person you consulted with.
