“Folders could not be opened” error

With Skype for Business installed, you may sometimes see this error when attempting to open Outlook:

 

We are working on a fix. In the meantime, try this rather simple workaround:

  • Press OK to close the error screen. 
  • Right-click on the Skype for Business icon in the taskbar (bottom right corner of the screen). Then click "Exit".

  • Open Outlook as you normally would.
  • Re-open Skype for Business.
